Alejandro Giannattasio killed in crash

MIRAMAR, Fla. – One man was killed and three others were injured in a three-vehicle crash in Miramar on Monday morning.

The crash happened at Pembroke Road and Southwest 172nd Avenue about 11:30 a.m.

Police say Alejandro Giannattasio was heading westbound on Pembroke Road and ran the red light at 172 Avenue. His black Mazda collided with the passenger side of a white tow truck that was traveling northbound on 172 Avenue.

According to police, the impact caused the tow truck to crash into a black Honda Accord.

Giannattasio suffered severe head injuries and was airlifted to Memorial Regional, where he died.

The three others were transported to Memorial Hospital Miramar with non-life threatening injuries.

No charges have been filed.
