Bob Norman

Bob Norman joined Local 10 in May after exposing corruption and fraud in South Florida for 13 years as a print journalist. His reporting has led to indictments against several local politicians and the ouster of a chief criminal judge, but he's likely best known for breaking the story of Ponzi schemer Scott Rothstein.

Norman's work has won dozens of awards, including a prestigious Livingston Award for national reporting in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks. At the weekly New Times, he was named the state's best columnist by the Florida Press Club and was given top honors by the National Society of Newspaper Columnists. He has won numerous Sunshine State and southern regional Green Eyeshade awards for everything from investigative reporting to business journalism to sports writing. His work has also been honored by the Investigative Reporters & Editors, UCLA's Gerald Loeb Awards, Medill's John Bartlow Martin Awards, and the William Randolph Hearst Foundation. One of Norman's awards included a publishing subsidy that led to his book "Florida Pulp Nonfiction," a well-received collection of his crime writing.

His story on backyard wrestling was included in Houghton Mifflin's "Best American Sports Writing" anthology and Gold Coast Magazine has twice named Norman in its annual "Best of South Florida" issue. His work has been featured in episodes of Frontline, American Greed, and True Crime.

He grew up in the Louisville area and graduated without honors from the University of Kentucky in 1992. After stints working in Cincinnati and the Washington D.C. area, Norman came to Florida, the place of his childhood dreams and vacations, in 1993. He worked five years as a crime reporter at the Fort Myers News-Press before moving across the peninsula in 1998. Norman lives in Plantation with his wife, journalist Brittany Wallman, two children, and a dog named Alabama.
