Delicious and nutritious smoothie recipes

I’ve really been digging green smoothies lately -- they give me a boost of energy and are quite yummy. To help spread the green smoothie love, I’ve selected six of my favorites for you to enjoy because: 1. They’re delicious 2. A lot of the ingredients repeat in the others so that you can buy your bulk and not worry about wasting stuff (I hate that) 3. They’re delicious 4. If you’re a smoothie novice, these are hard to mess up 5. They’re delicious 6. They’re delicious. (Notice a theme?)

I hope you have fun blending, and let me know how they work out! One smoothie a day helps to get you choc full of all those fruit and veggie servings that you need. Happy blending!

Green Smoothie 1
1 large orange, peeled and segmented
1/2 of a large banana, cut into chunks
6 large strawberries
2 cups spinach
1/3 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 cup ice

Directions:
1. Put all of the ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour and serve.

Green Smoothie 2
1 ½- 2 cups very cold, filtered water
6 cups spinach, chopped
5 cups organic romaine lettuce, chopped
2 stalks of organic celery
1 organic apple, cored and chopped
1 organic pear, cored and chopped
1 organic banana
1–2 Tbs. fresh organic lemon juice

Directions:
Place in blender and blend until smooth

Green Smoothie 3
2 cups cold water
1 banana, cut into chunks
1 orange, peeled and separated into segments
½ apple (your favorite variety), peeled, cored, and cut into chunks
½ lemon, peeled and separated into segments
½-inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled and minced
2 cups baby spinach

Directions:
Add all ingredients to a blender and puree until smooth and completely combined.

Green Smoothie 4
1 cup ice
Handful of collard greens
Handful of baby spinach
Handful of kale
Handful of blueberries
½ inch piece of fresh ginger, peeled

Directions:
Blend in blender until smooth and enjoy

Green Smoothie 5
1 cup of ice
Handful of collard greens
Handful of kale
1 apple
½ inch piece of ginger peeled
½ cup of orange juice

Directions:
Blend until smooth and serve

Green Smoothie 6
3 carrots
Handful of kale
Handful of spinach
1 banana
½ apple
½ cup ice
½ cup almond milk

Directions:
Blend until smooth and serve
