Eyestrain happens when your eyes get tired from intense use, like driving for an extended amount of time or working at a computer.

According to the Mayo Clinic, in most cases eyestrain isn’t serious and it will go away once you’ve given your eyes a chance to rest. At times, eyestrain can indicate an underlying condition that needs to be treated.

According to the Mayo Clinic, some symptoms of eyestrain include: tired or burning eyes, watery eyes, dry eyes, blurred or double vision, sore neck or back, shoulder pain, sensitivity to light.

The Mayo Clinic suggests that if you suffer from headaches, eye discomfort or notice a change in vision that you should see a doctor.

One of the most common causes of eyestrain is extended computer use. According to the Mayo Clinic, this type of eyestrain is called computer vision syndrome.
