A South Florida man fined for operating a pit bull kennel in a residential neighborhood has reduced the number of pit bulls on his property to three.
At one time, Reno Yohai had 30 pit bulls at his home on Southwest 32nd Avenue. Many were in cages and chained to trees in the front and back of the property.
The city of West Park has levied fines totaling $50,000 for operating a kennel in a residential neighborhood.
The Broward Sheriff's Office had abuse and neglect investigators at the house several times.
Yohai said he has found homes for most of the dogs, keeping only three.
BSO said Yohai is now in compliance as far as the dogs go, but he still needs to clean up his property.
