Emmy-Award winning Anchor/Reporter Jason Martinez co-anchors the Local 10 Morning News and Local 10 News at Noon.

Before coming to Local 10, Jason worked in Los Angeles where he anchored the KTLA News at 6:30 & 10 p.m. In the summer of 2009, he earned his fourth Emmy Award for team coverage of Michael Jackson's death.

Jason's experience reporting in the field has taken him through wildfires, floods, crime scenes, elections, plane crashes, tornadoes, and now ... hurricanes.

At WTVG in Toledo, Ohio, Jason reported on several major stories, including the November 2002 outbreak of tornadoes in Northwest Ohio, "The Big Blackout," and interviewed a young high school kid named LeBron James who was pretty good at basketball.

In Fresno California, Jason was the morning and midday anchor at the ABC-owned station KFSN. In the winter of 2007, he won an Emmy providing coverage for a devastating freeze that destroyed Central California's citrus crops. By the time Jason left Fresno in 2008, he had nearly a decade of television news experience under his belt.

Being a “Daddy” is Jason’s true love. He is the proud father of two sons, Jagger and Carson.

His youngest son, Carson, nearly died after contracting a blood infection just days after he was born. It was Carson's remarkable recovery that motivated Jason to get involved with causes that benefit Children's Hospitals across the country. He has hosted and participated in a variety of events benefitting South Florida's Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital.

Jason lost his grandfather to Alzheimer's Disease, which is another cause near and dear to his heart. He's now a partner with The South Florida Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. Each fall, Jason hosts “Walk to End Alzheimer’s” events across South Florida.

Jason's other love is music. He has been a drummer since the age of 4 and has shared the stage with great musicians covering a variety of genres such as funk, country, jazz, Latin, R&B, soul and rock.

Jason is also a sports fanatic! He's a former college baseball player and an avid golfer.
