It’s important to properly winterize your above-ground pool. To make sure you protect your pool over the winter months, follow these tips.
Before closing your pool for the season it’s important to make sure your water has a proper chemical balance. Make sure your pH, total alkalinity, and calcium hardness are all balanced.
You also need to make sure you have the proper water level. Water expands as it freezes, which can wreck the pool, pool plumbing and filter system.
Also make sure the water is below the level of the skimmer. This will ensure that the skimmer doesn’t get ruined by the frozen water.
You also need to remove all water from the filter system equipment.
