Memorable car commercials

Each year, numerous car commercials hit television screens to advertise the latest models. Some commercials are more memorable than others. Take a look at some of the most memorable and effective car commercials.

 

Honda, “Raised By Wolves”

In this 2004 commercial for the Honda Pilot, actor Scott Adsit plays a man who was raised by wolves and is now trying to lead a normal life.

 

BMW, “Land Speed”

This 1998 ad for the BMW M5 showcases the car’s speed – at the time it was said to be the fastest sedan. It shows the car being faster than a jet.

 

Audi, “The Chase”

This 2009 commercial for the Audi A6 features The Transporter – Jason Statham – to travel through time driving various luxury sports cars before he ultimately finds the Audi A6.

 

Nissan, “Barbie and Ken”

This 1990 ad plays off of the “Toy Story” idea of toys coming to life when their owners are away. This commercials shows a G.I. Joe-esque toy buzzing around in the car on his way to pick up Barbie.

 

Lexus, “Balance”

In a 1989 commercial for the Lexus LS400, the luxury car’s smooth ride is demonstrated through a pyramid of champagne glasses balancing on the car’s hood.

 

Mercedes-Benz, “Not In This Weather”

This controversial 1998 commercial for the Mercedes-Benz E-Class shows a couple having an extramarital affair, and the husband traveling with ease in his Mercedes to meet his mistress.

 

Volkswagen “Like”

This 2008 commercial for the Volkswagen Jetta uses a shocking ad to demonstrate the car’s safety. It shows two friends driving along, talking and then suddenly crashing into a car. The commercial ends with both men getting out of the car, surviving the accident untouched.

 

Honda “The Cog”

This 2003 commercial for the Honda Accord Sport Wagon won a series of awards. The ad shows the car’s parts coming together one-by-one to make the car.

 

Audi, “Old Luxury”

This 2009 commercial for the Audi R8 uses a spoof on a “Godfather” scene to send a warning to the old guard that Audi is coming.
