Miami, Fla. – Football players at Booker T. Washington High School in Miami spent part of their day with the Dolphins.

The teens, the Fins, and the Miami-Dade County Commissioners all got together at this morning's Miami-Dade County Commission meeting.

The high schoolers were honored for becoming the 2013 high school football national champions.

The County declared today to be in honor of the team, and the Dolphins gave the team a check for $23,585 to pay for their championship rings.

"It's an honor to be able to reach out and do the things we do because these kids, if we continue to support them, they can go on to great heights," said Nat Moore, the Vice President of the Dolphins.
