MIAMI – The strongest cold front of the season will be moving into South Florida Monday evening.
This will bring the coldest air so far this season. We are forecast to hit 49 degrees overnight Monday into Tuesday.

This will be the coldest we have been since March 27, 2013 when we hit 47 degrees. The coldest morning so far this season was on Thanksgiving November 28, when we fell to 52 degrees.
The cool down will be brief as we will rebound almost 20 degrees from Tuesday afternoon to Thursday afternoon going from a high of 62 degrees to 81 degrees.
The National Weather Service has issued a freeze watch for Glades and Hendry counties near Lake Okeechobee tonight through Tuesday morning. A freeze watch means temperatures of 32 degrees or lower are possible for any duration of time. These conditions could kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
Marine conditions will begin to deteriorate as winds pick up behind the front. A Small Craft Advisory has already been issued for the waters off of Miami-Dade, Broward and the Florida Keys.
On the water from Deerfield Beach to Ocean Reef expect seas 5-9 feet as the winds will be NNE 15-20 knots. In the Keys winds will be NNE 20-25 knots with seas beyond the reef building 8-10 feet. Inside the reef seas will be 3-6 feet.
A Gale Watch is in effect from 4pm this afternoon through Tuesday morning and a Gale Warning might be needed overnight.
