Disney is set to begin banning password sharing on its streaming services.

In an email to Hulu subscribers on Wednesday, Disney said it would start limiting sharing accounts outside of your household starting March 14.

The ESPN+, Disney+ and Hulu user agreements state the service would prevent users from impersonating someone else by using their username or password.

Walt Disney Co. said it will acquire a 33% stake in Hulu from Comcast for at least $8.6 billion, a deal that will give Disney full control of the streaming service in Nov. 2023.

Disney raised prices for ad-free versions of Disney+ and Hulu by 20% to 27% in 2023.

CEO Bob Iger said last August that the increases were designed to steer consumers toward cheaper ad-supported versions of those channels, whose subscription prices did not change.
