MIAMI – If baseball doesn't work out for Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton, there's always a future in modeling.

The Marlins star was among a group of athletes that posed totally nude for ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue.

"You know it's going to be a nude shoot. There's really no being shy about it, you know, so you have to just kind of go in there and have fun with it, find a way to get past the naked in front of a bunch of people," said Stanton. "I've never done anything like this before so that's pretty cool."

Other than a splash of water in conveniently located places, Stanton appears completely in the buff with a stitch of clothing.

"I don't even know what to say about that. I'm kind of embarrassed for him," said Steve Cishek. "He's actually kind of hilarious looking. I'm going to have to make fun of him now.

"He's not normal," added Jose Fernandez. "His body is just incredible. I've never seen anything like it."

"He looks good," said Adeiny Hechavarria.

In an interview on ESPN.com, Stanton explains his not-so-rigorous body maintenance routine.

"Push-ups and sit-ups are my go-to." said Stanton. "It is the simplest routine and the best thing to maintain my stomach and chest. I'll do about 100 of each a day, usually when I'm already warmed up."

At 6 feet, 6 inches and 250 pounds, the 23-year-old Stanton is considered to be one of the bright young stars in baseball.

ESPN the Magazine's Body Issue is available now and features athletes like Colin Kaepernick, John Wall and Gary Player wearing nothing but their birthday suits.
