MIAMI – Narcotics investigators seized 43 pot plants with an estimated street value of $107,5000 from the home of Antonio J. Feliu, the gunman who police say killed two women, then led officers on a chase that ended in a fatal crash Wednesday morning.
According to Miami-Dade police, a fully operational hydroponics lab was found inside the home, located at 2020 SW 100th Avenue.
"I saw about five or six police cars," said one neighbor. "And then the police started coming in."
Neighbors are reeling to learn that Feliu was the man who shot and killed his ex-girlfriend, Viviana Gallego, and her 28-year-old daughter, Anabel Benitez.
Police say that for the last six months he had been living at a home located at 2020 SW 100th Avenue, and rigging electricity to run the hydroponics lab that likely funded the new Mercedes he had been driving.
"It caught me completely by surprise. We had no idea anything was going on in the house," said Stuart Ordaz. Ordaz, who lives near Orlando, told Local 10's Glenna Milberg that Feliu always paid his bills on time, had good references and good credit."
