Mobile apps help you avoid wait times at restaurants

Local 10 Tech Expert recommends NoWait and OpenTable

A new mobile application is helping diners skip the lines at casual dining restaurants, by letting allowing you to join the wait list before you even arrive.

NoWait is a free application available on the Apple App Store and for Google's Android products. Originally started as an application to be used on tablets by restaurants, the mobile version is created for consumers looking to dine without the wait.

Once downloaded, users can browse a list of nearby restaurants and their current wait times. If one catches your eye, you can join the wait list and watch as you move up in line.

Many restaurants that use NoWait are ones that do not typically take reservations.

For those planning further ahead, Local 10 Tech Expert Craig Agranoff, of Gripd.com recommends using OpenTable. According to its website, it has helped more than 575 million diners eat at 31,000 restaurants worldwide.
