Man struck after SUV crashes into Miami store

Witnesses: Driver claims brakes failed

MIAMI – A man was rushed to the emergency room after he was struck by a sport utility vehicle that crashed into Fajas Colombianas in Miami.

The crash happened Just before 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the store on Southwest Eighth Street at 62nd Avenue.

Witnesses told police the victim was standing outside the store when the driver backed his Nissan Murano into him.

"He looked really bad," witness Cesar Baca told Local 10 News of the man who was struck.

Blood on the victim's torn shirt was still seen about an hour after the crash.

Witnesses said the driver told them he had just purchased the SUV and claimed the brakes failed.

Police are investigating the crash.
