MIAMI – Police believe two armed robberies, including one where a man was shot several times, are connected.
The first robbery happened at a 7-Eleven at 11500 Pembroke Road in Miramar about 2:30 a.m. Feb. 9. The second robbery happened at People's Market, located at 6355 NW 7th Avenue in Miami's Liberty City neighborhood, about 3:40 a.m. Feb. 9.
Two men, one armed with a handgun and the other with a shotgun, arrived at the 7-Eleven in a dark-colored Ford F-150, say police.
Once inside the store, they demanded money from two employees. A female employee suffered a non-life threatening injury when she was pistol whipped.
The robbers made off with an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarette cartons, and the employees' wallets.

In the second robbery, two armed men entered the market with their faces covered and forced everyone to lay on the ground, say police.
"It's a pretty dramatic scene," said Miami Police Sgt. Freddie Cruz. "Our investigators were able to link them because of the vehicle and the profiles in the cameras."
One of the men forced Shawgy Mohamed behind the counter while the other held a shotgun to a woman's held and made her stand by the door.
Mohamed was forced to open the cash register and the robber then pistol whipped him.
Mohamed and the robber then fought before the robber shot Mohamed in the chest, say police. As the two robbers left the store, the man with the shotgun told the other robber to shoot Mohamed again.
That robber then shot Mohamed several more times.
"They begin to shoot this poor victim over 10 times," said Cruz.
Mohamed is listed in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Both robbers in the Miami robbery are described as being 18 to 28 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall to 5 feet 10 inches tall, and weighing about 150 pounds.
The first robber wore a light grey sweater and covered his face with a bandana. The second robber wore a dark sweater and also covered his face.
Both robbers were last seen heading east on Northwest 64th Street.
