The crash happened at 440 NW 6th Street about 12:52 p.m. Tuesday. A Lexus sports-utility vehicle hit and broke a water main of the office building for the International Longshoremen's Association.
The leaking pipe created a sink hole and sent sand spilling into the roadway.
Two women, one in each vehicle, were taken to Broward Health with non-life threatening injuries. Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue reported no other injuries.
It took crews about 30 minutes to repair the leak. All lanes of the roadway have since reopened.
The president of the Georgian Court North Co-ops Condominiums in Fort Lauderdale has allegedly been paying himself tens of thousands of dollars out of the association funds.
