1st floor of hospital covered by Girl Scout painted murals

PALMETTO BAY, Fla. – A group of Girl Scout troops are on the verge of completing a collection of murals for Miami Children's Hospital that began more than three years ago.

The project began when Junior Girl Scout Troop 623 requested to pain a single mural at the Palmetto Bay Center.

That single mural led to other troops getting involved in the paintings. Now, three years later, the murals will cover the entire first floor.

They're not stopping there. Girl Scout Ambassador Caley Blanchard has just committed to completing the entire second floor in order to earn her Girl Scout Gold Award.

The first floor project is expected to be finished in August.
