A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead Sunday morning after crashing his car into a canal late Saturday night.
Police say Joseph Eugene Livolsi, 28, lost control of his car just before 11:45 p.m. Saturday night while heading southbound on U.S. Highway 27, about half of a mile north of Griffin Road.
Police believe Livolsi overcorrected his car which caused him to go over a guardrail, through bushes and into a western Broward canal.
When police arrived Livolsi was still in his car which was submerged under water, but rescuers were able to break a window and pull him from the car.
Despite CPR, Livolsi was pronounced dead after arriving to Cleveland Clinic in Weston.
Broward County Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.
