4 arrested after high-speed chase, crash at Hallandale Beach Police Department

Stolen Toyota Camry involved in crash

HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – Four people are in custody after a high-speed chase ended in a violent crash outside the Hallandale Beach Police Department early Tuesday morning.

Officers stopped a Toyota Camry on Federal Highway about 2:30 a.m. A passenger got out of the car, but officers said the driver took off when officers determined the car had been stolen. The driver and two other suspects led police on the chase that ended outside the police station at 400 S. Federal Highway. 

Chief Dwayne Flourney said a palm tree and then crashed into a parked car before flipping over.

Two armed suspects ran from the scene. A perimeter was set up around the police department until they were apprehended and arrested. Both were taken to the hospital with undisclosed injuries. Another suspect was arrested in the parking lot. 

Police told Local 10 News the car had been stolen from Miami Gardens. At least four guns were recovered from the car, one of which was reported stolen from Fort Lauderdale. 

An officer was injured during the pursuit, but he was expected to make a full recovery.
