Four bodies were found in the water Sunday off Hollywood, the U.S. Coast Guard said.
The Coast Guard said the bodies of four men were found Sunday morning by fisherman about 20 miles off the coast of Hollywood.
"They were all within a couple miles of each other," Chief Petty Officer Ryan Doss told Local 10 News.
Doss said they aren't sure from where the bodies came but that they were fully clothed and not wearing any life preservers.
"There's no indication as to who these four men are," Doss said.
Debris was also found floating near the bodies.
"There was debris out there, but there was no debris that we were able to directly correlate with these individuals," Doss said.
So far crews have search more than 1,900 square miles from Key Biscayne to Vero Beach and found no boat wreckage, no floatation devices, no survivors, and no more bodies. They've also had no phone calls from local residents to say their loved ones went fishing or were planning to migrant from another country and never showed up.
On Monday afternoon the Coast Guard did not have any of its assets searching for more bodies or survivors. They said the mission has not been suspended but that they were "reassessing" their next steps.
Coast Guard officials told Local 10 News they are confident that the discovery is not connected to the group of Haitian migrants that came ashore early Monday morning in Hillsboro Beach, but couldn't say why they're so sure of that.
