911 calls released when boat capsized

The Broward Sheriff's Office released 911 calls made when a dive boat with 23 people aboard capsized on Thanksgiving near the Hillsboro Inlet, killing one woman.

The captain of the catamaran, which is named Coral Princess, and other witnesses told investigators that a large wave hit the vessel as it approached the rough water of the the inlet. All 23 abroad went into the water. One woman who was visiting South Florida from New Mexico died at the hospital.

The caller told the 911 operator that the boat capsized near the first buoy.

"Yeah, Hillsboro Inlet, an entire boat of people just went over," said the caller. "It flipped over."
