BROWARD COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Highway Patrol closed parts of I-75 and northbound U.S. 27 Tuesday morning due to poor visibility.
This is the second day in a row that FHP has had to close Alligator Alley they say because of a combination of fog and smoke from a brush fire burning in Collier County, around mile marker 75. They say in some places visibility is less than 50 feet.
Motorists who are traveling on I-75 northbound, will be rerouted at exit 23 and can only take U.S. 27 south. To head west, continue south to Krome Avenue and make a right on Tamiami Trail.
On Monday, FHP closed Alligator Alley for seven hours, from 3:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
It is unclear how long the roadway will be closed today.
