BSO: Lauderdale Lakes burglary suspect in custody
Police say they have arrested a man who robbed a home Saturday morning in Lauderdale Lakes.
The Broward Sheriff's Office said Julio Requena, 21, was taken into custody after robbing a home around 8:45 am in the 3900 block of NW 45th Terrace.
Police say deputies saw the man's black Mazda leaving the scene as they attempted to conduct a traffic stop. However, deputies said Requena fled from the scene.
A short distance away in the 3300 block of NW 29th Street, police said Requena rammed a deputy's car into a pole and continued to flee.
Deputies said they finally brought Requena's vehicle to a stop using the P.I.T. maneuver as it was traveling northbound on I-95 and Palmetto Parkway.
Police said Requena fled on foot, but was apprehended by K-9.
Officials said Boca Raton Fire Rescue transported Requena to Boca Medical Center.
