Police say a dead man was found in the 3800 block of West Hallandale Beach Boulevard on Wednesday morning.
According to the Broward Sheriff's Office, the body was found in an alley way behind Steve's Transmissions.
Detectives said a man was taking his dog for a morning walk around 7 am Wednesday morning. He was walking along the boulevard when his dog alerted him to something he found on the path.
According to BSO, the man walking his dog initially thought the body was a mannequin. As he got closer, he discovered it was a dead body.
The deceased man was transported to the Broward County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy. His name is being held, said BSO, pending notification of next of kin.
Officials said BSO homicide and crime scene detectives arrived at the scene and are investigating the man's death.
Anyone with information related to this death is asked to contact BSO Homicide Detective Scott Champagne at 954-321-4210, or Broward County Crime Stoppers anonymously at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or online here.
