HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A police officer shot a burglar outside a Hallandale Beach home.
The incident happened in the 800 block of Southwest 3rd Street about 3:45 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, a neighbor saw two men trying to break into a home.
While police officers were outside the home, the two burglars tried running out of the front door. An officer fired multiple times and hit one of the men.
The burglar suffered non-life threatening injuries, according to a spokesperson from Memorial Regional Hospital.
The other burglar was apprehended.
"We need those kinds of neighbors to watch after each other, to make sure nothing happens to none of us, to protect from these crazy people," said Janet Zabala.
