MIAMI – The Carnival Ecstasy lost power for 12 minutes while out at sea Wednesday.
All hotel services and propulsion were quickly restored, according to a statement from Carnival Cruise Lines.

The Carnival Ecstasy was expected to return to Port Canaveral Thursday.
It was the latest problem for the cruise line, which announced Wednesday a $300 million program to add emergency generators, upgrade fire safety and improve engine rooms on all 24 of its ships.
