A convicted felon shot a man who tried stealing his motorcycle, Miami-Dade police say.
The shooting happened near Southwest 280th Street and 145th Avenue about 7:10 a.m. Tuesday.
Police say the motorcycle owner witnessed someone trying to steal it overnight. He stayed up and the thief returned.
After the thief grabbed the motorcycle, the owner followed him and shot him, say police.
The motorcycle owner then told police he was a convicted felon but the gun was his. He was arrested.
The thief was taken to the hospital. His condition was not immediately released. He will be charged when he's released from the hospital, police say.
