The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reports record background check requests for gun purchases since lawmakers started considering changing gun laws in the U.S.
FDLE reported nearly 300,000 requests in 2013, including more than 2,000 in the first days of April.
"The biggest problem is getting something to sell," said Walter Philbrick, the president at 911 Store USA in Hollywood. "Everyone is hording ammunition. There is no ammunition I can get."
The potential change to gun laws has also sparked long lines at shows.
"That's a lot of business I missed because we do the classes here in Hollywood at the 911 store -- it's a lot of people in a short time," said Philbrick.
