Police in Miami Beach are looking for a man who posed as a Florida Power & Light worker as a distraction so another person could burglarize the home.
It happened in the 5300 block of Alton Road on October 12th.
According to Miami Beach Police, the fake FPL worker told a housekeeper at the home that he needed to check the power lines in the back yard.
While the housekeeper was in the back yard with the fake FPL worker, another person apparently went inside the home. When the housekeeper went back inside the house, she found a pillowcase stuffed with silverware on the floor. Police also found pry marks on a locked bedroom.
There were no other signs of forced entry.
The fake FPL worker is described as being in his early to mid 20s, standing 5 feet 3 inches to 5 feet 4 inches tall, and weighing between 130 and 135 pounds. Police said the man understood Spanish and had a tattoo on his upper left arm.
Anyone with information is asked to call Miami Beach Police at 305-673-7776 ext. 5543 or Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
