Gun sales up in Florida compared to 2011
Gun sales in the state of Florida during December are up compared to last year, and have set records nearly every day since the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn.
The day after the shooting, 6,945 guns were sold compared to 2,645 on the same day in 2011.
Here's a breakdown in gun sales in the state after the shooting.
- Dec. 16: 3,171 in 2012 | 3,258 in 2011
- Dec. 17: 5,735 in 2012 | 3,900 in 2011
- Dec. 18: 7,105 in 2012 | 1,773 in 2011
- Dec. 19: 8,250 in 2012 | 3,014 in 2011
The shooting has caused debate throughout the country about gun control. The National Rifle Association (NRA) held a news conference Friday about the shooting.
