The SWAT team was called to the scene of a shooting in Fort Lauderdale on Sunday, according to authorities.
Investigators said an argument led to a shooting outside of a home in the 3400 hundred block of West Broward Boulevard.
Police said Jamichael Warner, 23, and Antonio Brinson, 33, were fighting around 10:25 a.m. when Warner pulled out a gun and shot Brinson.
As Warner fled from the area, he pointed the firearm towards the sky and fired a couple shots into the air, authorities said.
The suspect eventually surrendered, police said.
Brinson was transported to Broward Health Medical Center for a gunshot wound and was listed in stable condition, authorities said.
Warner has been charged with one count of aggravated battery with a firearm; one count of violation of probation; one count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon; and one count of display of a firearm during the commission of a felony.
