Police are looking for a man who stole Monster, a t-cup Yorkie, outside Mykonos Greek restaurant in Miami.

The dog snatching happened at 1201 SW 22nd Street about 4:15 p.m. March 13.

Athina Kafouros, who owns Monster, went inside the restaurant, leaving the dog on a chair at an outdoors table, police say. When she returned, Monster was gone.

"I feel like there's a big rock in the bottom of my stomach and a knife that's been jabbed into my heart," said Kafouros. "He truly was one in a million. He was the best dog I've ever owned. He was a character. He was very lovable, when he wanted to be, but he was a little monster when he wanted to be."

Kafouros' boyfriend gave her Monster for Christmas. He was a staple at Mykonos, where she worked as a manager.

"Every single day, he sits outside, so I never thought anything like this would ever happen to me," she said.

Surveillance video showed a 20 to 25-year-old man wearing blue jeans, a black shirt, a white hat, and a black backpack leaving the area on a bicycle.

"I kept seeing it over and over again, this man grabbing my dog and putting him on his bike," said Kafouros. "I just want my dog back, I don't care who has him, who took him."

Police are offering a reward to catch the dog-napper through Crime Stoppers. Meanwhile, Kafouras is offering $1,000 of her own money as a reward, no questions asked.

"I just want my dog back, I don't care who has him or who took him," said Kafouras.

Tips are already pouring in about Monster's whereabouts.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-8477.
