Masked robber strikes at Chase bank

Michael J. Webb was known to wield a gun and jump over bank counters across South Florida, authorities said.

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. -

Deputies are searching for a man who robbed a Pompano Beach bank on Friday morning.

The Broward Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a robbery at the Chase at 2285 N. Federal Highway about 10 a.m.

An armed, masked man jumped over a counter at the bank, grabbed some cash and escaped, BSO said.

Deputies established a perimeter in the area.

The robber was 5 feet 6 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall and wore blue jeans and a striped shirt.
