Police say 1 detained, taken into questioning after shooting

MIAMI ā€“ Police are investigating a shooting that took place Thursday afternoon that has left one man dead as a result of a confrontation between several men.

Miami police said the shooting occurred around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at 142 Northeast 26th Street.

According to detectives, a group of men were heard arguing with each other. Shortly after, police said the sound of gunfire followed.

A man in his 20s was fatally shot. Police said he died on the scene. His name is being withheld until the next of kin is notified.

Police said the shooter remained on the scene and was immediately detained and is currently being questioned by homicide detectives. He has not yet been arrested.
