Missing Cooper City man found safely

BSO deputies say man suffers from dementia, depression, diabetes

COOPER CITY, Fla. – Broward County Sheriff's deputies say they've located a Cooper City man who was reported missing Friday afternoon.

Cesar Altamirano, 82, left his home at 5951 SW 112 Way on foot and without his medication around 1 p.m. on Friday. Early Saturday morning, authorities announced he had been located near his home unharmed.

BSO said Altamirano suffers from dementia, depression and diabetes. He has a distrust of police, says deputies.

Deputies said he walks slowly and usually wears a silver watch and a blue/purple, plastic bracelet with the phrase "In God We Trust."

BSO says Altamirano is 5-foot 5-inches tall, weighs between 140 to 145 pounds, and was last seen wearing a beige shirt and tan-colored pants.
