Miami-Dade police found a 16-year-old girl who had been missing for a week, hiding out in a tent at the Occupy Miami protests Wednesday.
Police said people who live in the tent city knew they were looking for the teen, but didn't say anything and let her stay there.
The girl's mother called the occupiers hypocrites to their own cause for not telling officials of her whereabouts.
"They're saying that the government is not giving good education for the future, and my girls have been skipping school, not going to school, and they know about it," Ana Hercules said.
Some of the protestors admit their growing camp does attract people that may not necessarily care about the social movement—who may not consider things like consumerism and corporate power.
"It definitely varies moment to moment, who's participating and who's not," protestor Kevin Young said.
