A cop responding to a call for backup rammed into an apartment building in Opa-locka Wednesday, according to officials.
It happened at the corner of Kalandar Street and Ali Baba Avenue.
City Manager David Chiverton said it happened after an officer asked for backup in a domestic violence dispute between a man and a pregnant woman. A responding officer in a marked cruiser was on his way to the scene when he swerved to miss an unmarked police car, the official said.
According to Chiverton, the accident caused damage to the cruiser and the corner of the two-story building.
No injuries were reported.
An arrest in the domestic dispute is pending.
