Police: Man waited for, killed victim
A 19-year-old man is charged with shooting and killing a person who he heard entering his apartment through a back door.
Jordan Beswick is charged with second-degree murder.
Police say Beswick heard someone trying to open the sliding glass door in the back of his apartment. He then called a friend to meet him at his apartment when he heard the noises.
Beswick told police he waited a few minutes until the victim was in the rear bedroom. When he saw the victim, Beswick shot at him seven times, say police.
Beswick then went outside and waited for the victim to leave, say police. When the victim tried leaving through a window, Beswick shot at him six times.
The victim was killed at the apartment.
Originally, investigators believed the shooting followed a home invasion.
Beswick is being held on no bond.
