President Obama leads Mitt Romney in Florida, according to a brand new poll.
The Public Policy Polling study found President Obama with a 50 percent to 46 percent for Romney. The same poll in April showed the President with a 50-45 lead.
“Florida’s going to be closely contested this fall as it always is,” said Dean Debnam, President of Public Policy Polling. “But for now we’re finding Barack Obama as a modest favorite in the state.”
The study also took a look at favorability ratings. 49 percent of people in Florida approve the job President Obama is doing, while 46 percent disapprove.
39 percent said they have a favorable opinion of the GOP frontrunner, while 53 percent have an unfavorable opinion of Romney.
The telephone survey of 642 Florida voters was conducted from May 31 through June 2. The margin of error for the survey is +/-3.9 percent.
