Robber shoots cane-wielding victim

An armed robber shot a 73-year-old man who fought back with his cane when the robber tried stealing his gold bracelet.
The incident happened in the parking lot of the Walgreens at 1695 NW 20th Street in Miami about 3:54 p.m. Sunday.
The robber shot Juaquin Veita in the abdomen several times, according to Miami police.
The robber and another man then left the area in a 2000-style, burgundy Ford Taurus with tinted windows.
Veita is in critical condition at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
