Robbery suspect dies in rollover crash

A man who was trying to get away from police after robbing an elderly woman Monday afternoon died after he crashed his car into a minivan, police said.
According to investigators, the suspect robbed the woman of her purse in the 600 block of 17th Avenue.
Police sent out a "be on the lookout" for the suspect's car.
An officer saw the car heading westbound on 20th Avenue and Johnson Street.
The officer followed the car and noticed the suspect throwing contents of the purse out of the car's window.
A short time later, the car crashed into a minivan Taft Street and North Park Road and rolled over completely.
The man driving the getaway car died at the scene. One other suspect was taken into custody.
The minivan driver suffered minor injuries.
The robbery victim suffered injuries, the extent of which are not known.
