Security was tight at Lynn University on Monday ahead of the final presidential debate between Barack Obama and Mitt Romney.
Everyone who arrived on campus passed through a checkpoint and every package went through an x-ray.
"There is a perimeter and to get into the perimeter, you have to have credentials," said Laurie Levine, the Lynn University CFO. "Outside the perimeter, the roads are closed."
"They don't hold you up too long. They check what they need to check, look at your credentials, and send you on your way," said Lynn alumnus Scott Albano.
The campus was chosen partly because of the ability to providing a safe venue.
"There are a couple of canals around us. We can look at the center of this campus and kind of enclose it in," said Lynn University President Kevin Ross. "Not being in a major urban area I imagine was helpful."
