A South Florida church was forced to call the police after someone stole pieces of its Christmas nativity scene.

Palm Beach Police said they responded to the Royal Poinciana Chapel on Wednesday after hearing that two manger display sheep had been stolen.

There are thirteen sheep in all. The nativity characters and animals are moved little by little towards the main manger scene as Christmas approaches.

The eleven remaining manger sheep were not stolen. They are worth $1,000 each. The entire display is worth nearly $45,000.

The church pastor, Dr. Robert Norris, said he wants to prosecute whomever stole the sheep.

This is the second time the church has been hit. Last year, someone stole the church's baby Jesus. It was never recovered.
