South Beach Run Club holds 'Band Together for Boston' run
Below is the South Beach Run Club's news release about its "Band Together for Boston" run.
WHO: South Beach Run Club’s “Band Together for Boston” Police-Escorted Run. Several South Florida runners that competed in Boston and witnessed the tragedy are expected to be in attendance, in addition to the many members of the South Beach Run Club and South Florida running community.
WHAT: South Beach Run Club is leading a “Band Together for Boston” run tonight to honor the victims and heroes of the Boston Marathon tragedy. The run will feature a police escort down Washington Ave. from its start point at Lincoln Rd and Washington Ave. to 5th Street. Runners are encouraged to wear white clothing of some sort (bands around arms, headbands, white shirts, tops, or shorts) with supportive messages or signs to show our solidarity and support.
WHERE: Starting on Lincoln Rd side of intersection of Lincoln and Washington.
WHEN: TONIGHT - Thursday, April 18th, 7PM
WHY: The tragedy in Boston has touched us all. We run to show our support and love for those affected by this terrible event, to share strength for the victims and their families, and appreciation for the many heroes that acted so swiftly to help care for so many, so fast.
