Stage collapse at Ultra Music Festival injures 4

2 victims listed in critical condition

MIAMI – A row of video screens collapsed and injured four people at Ultra Music Festival in downtown Miami on Thursday night, according to authorities.

The accident happened during setup at the festival's main stage in Bayfront Park. Miami Fire-Rescue said they received a call about the stage collapse at 7:48 p.m.

Miami Fire-Rescue said two male setup crew members were trapped and seriously injured. The victims were transported to Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition, officials said.

A third crew member was also injured and is in stable condition. A fourth crew member was treated on the scene.

Authorities said setup for the festival has been suspended while they check the stage to make sure it is structurally sound.

The first weekend of the festival is scheduled to start on Friday. It remains unclear whether the accident will impact opening performances.
