Thousands take part in Miami Beach Half Marathon

Thousands of runners took part in the Allstate 5K and Half Marathon on Miami Beach Saturday morning.
Kenya native, Gesabwa Risper, won the 13.1 race for the women. Another Kenyan native, Shadrack Kosgei,won in the 13.1 race for the men's division.
First place finishers in each division will take home a $13,100 first place prize. Runner-up finishers will receive $1,000 and third-place finishers will get $500.
A field of 3,000 runners participated. Runners ranged from competitive athletes to people like Darren Weisman, also known as Dr. Dribble. Weisman dribbled basketballs as he ran to raise money for Our Kids, which benefits abused and neglected foster children.
In order to be eligible to win the championship prize money, runners must qualify with certain times and by winning another Allstate Life Insurance race during last year's season.
