Victim identified in shooting at Faith Center

Police say a man shot his ex-girlfriend several times before fatally shooting himself in front of a South Florida church.

SUNRISE, Fla. -

Police say a man shot his ex-girlfriend twice before fatally shooting himself in front of a South Florida church.

The shooting victim was identified as Denise Miller, 48,. She was listed in stable condition Monday morning. The shooter was identified as Kelvin Adams, 56.

The shooting happened at the Faith Center along Northwest 95th Avenue and 55th Street in Sunrise on Sunday morning.

The gunfire happened just minutes after Sunday service. Police said Adams shot at Miller while she was walking to her car with her 12-year-old daughter.

After shooting Miller, Adams then shot himself, said police. He was taken to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
