Alleged kidnapper arrested in Miami

The children's father was also arrested for child neglect

MIAMI – Two people were booked into the Miami-Dade county jail Monday after three children were abducted from outside a grocery store. They were found about two hours after they were taken at Northwest 1st Avenue and 59th Street about 5 p.m.

33-year-old Velan Verdier is the woman who police say took off in a stranger's car with the scared children inside. Their father, Anthony Milhomme was also arrested for leaving his kids in that car alone in the first place.

Milhomme's children, 5-year-old Anthony Junior, 6-year-old Kaila and his nephew, 7-year-old Isaiah are now home with their mothers.

Police say they were left in the running car while Milhomme ran in the store for groceries. When he returned his car and the children were gone.

A good samaritan saw the stolen car about a mile from the crime scene and police were able to arrest Verdier shortly after.

Milhomme has since bonded out of jail. He is charged with child neglect.
