Miramar man held with no bond in NFL murder case

Ernest Wallace charged with accessory to murder

MIRAMAR, Fla. – Police in Miramar arrested a 41-year-old man in connection with the Aaron Hernandez murder case.

Ernest Wallace turned himself in to the Miramar Police Department on Friday afternoon. He was wanted for acting as an accessory after the murder of Odin Lloyd, according to Massachusetts State Police.

"He approached a communications officer and stated that he was Ernest Wallace, that he had seen news reports," said Tania Rues, a spokeswoman for the Miramar Police Department.

"I'm surprised to hear that," said Doxter Clarke, Wallace's neighbor. "The only thing I know that he played cricket now, he goes to Jamaica."

Hernandez faces premeditated murder charges in Lloyd's death and has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors allege the former tight end with the New England Patriots orchestrated the hit and carried it out with another man.

Also on Friday, a Connecticut judge ordered Carlos Ortiz turned over to Massachusetts authorities. He was also arrested in connection with the murder case.
